About Us
Samaritan Ministries is a community of believers located in Trenton, New Jersey and an undisclosed location. With a strong foundation of prayer, we are committed to spreading the love of God and serving the community. Our vision is to create an atmosphere where God's love helps shape the community's future one family at a time. We offer various services and activities to our members and the wider community, including regular worship services, prayer meetings, Bible study groups, and community outreach programs.
Our BISHOP
Bishop Joseph P. Ravenell is a pastor, preacher, educator, and chaplain who has devoted his life to sharing the Gospel and serving others. A graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary, his ministry has extended beyond the pulpit into prisons, the military, higher education, and communities throughout New Jersey.
Bishop Ravenell served as a prison chaplain for nearly two decades and retired from the United States Army as a Chaplain Lieutenant Colonel. With a passion for developing future leaders, he also served for 30 years as a Field Education Supervisor at Princeton Theological Seminary, mentoring more than 180 seminarians serving around the world.
In 1979, Bishop Ravenell and his late wife, Elder Mary Jane Ravenell, began pastoring Samaritan Baptist Church in Trenton, New Jersey. Throughout his ministry, his commitment has remained centered on preaching the Gospel, strengthening families, mentoring generations, and serving his community. Bishop Ravenell firmly believes that where there is unity, there is strength.
Our Pastor
Byron Ravenell is a pastor, preacher, author, and gifted communicator with a heart for sharing the Gospel and helping others discover the fullness of God. His ministry has taken him both domestically and internationally, serving churches, ministries, musicians, and young people with a message rooted in faith, obedience, and the Word of God.
In addition to ministry, Byron is an accomplished musician, producer, composer, and writer with more than 30 years of experience in music, television, film, and live performance.
Byron is happily married to his wife, Shari, and is the proud father of daughter, Christiana. Above every accomplishment, Byron’s greatest desire is to remain obedient to the will of God and use his life to reach and serve others.
